SYDNEY WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHERS

A definitive guide to the best videographers in Sydney

7 of the best wedding videographers in Sydney

I get it, finding a wedding venue in Sydney can seem like a monumental and overwhelming task when you first start looking. Sydney is flooded with options, even once you start narrowing down your criteria. The first thing to do is figure out what kind of wedding you want - is it a big sit down affair with 200 of your closest or more of a laid back party with just your family and a few mates? Do you want somewhere you can DIY or a venue that does all the hard work for you? Somewhere with clean urban sophistication or surrounded by bushland and expansive views? This will help narrow it down.

I’ve shot hundreds of weddings in this town (see here for a handful), and whilst there’s plenty of great venues out there, these are some my favourite at this point in time (2020). There’s a good variety here for whatever aesthetic and vibe (and budget) you are after, but I’ve definitely focused on less traditional and unique wedding venues that haven’t just been doing the same old thing for the last two decades.

I’ve also included a bonus list at the end of a few venues that almost made the top 10, that are all beautiful and unique in their own right.

Without any further ado, here’s my curated list of 15 of the most unique wedding venues in Sydney.

If you want some more specific recommendations or you like the look of my images while you are here, flick me an email here.

1. Soda Films

Vibe -

Perhaps best described as industrial Scandinavian chic, La Porte Space in Rosebery has a range of beautiful dedicated spaces with varying styles and sizes. The venue is even hired out as a photography studio during the week, so they’ve clearly put alot of thought into light and aesthetics as well as functionality.

2. Alexander Li Films

Vibe -

“Crafting emotive films that feel natural & flow seamlessly. I hone into the smaller details and nuances to create films that really make you feel something when you watch them. Films that simultaneously show your wedding day and subtly dig a little deeper to tell the story of your relationship.”

3. The Wedding Cinematographer

Vibe -

“If I can see beautiful light falling through a tree, I’ll move around you to capture it, rather than asking you to do acrobatics again and again until I get the shot. I don’t feel the need to “make’ or ‘fake’ moments and I’m not big on posing. Bad colouring and cheesy music won’t be found here, that’s a promise.

During the day, I’m a friendly face who dapples in a bit of banter, but for the most part I’m invisible, looking for opportunities to do your day justice. I want to create imagery that makes you say WOW and grab the closest person to you, reliving your special day with big laughs and real tears.”

4. Morelife Films

Vibe -

“Morelife Films is a creation based on having and capturing fun. As the name would suggest, we’re cravers, natural born frothers and makers of life’s greatest entertainment.

As a team, we’re under the impression that the best stories are told through sturdy connections and good vibes. We’re not flies on the wall, we’re feet on the floor. That means we’re interacting, mingling and making pals with your nearest and dearests, so that we can capture the moments when their personalities really shine.”

5. Scout’s Honour Films

Vibe -

“Ben is caring and fun to be around. Focused on doing all he can to help you not only have an amazing memory of your wedding/elopement documented in film, but to help make your day fun, stress-free and personal to you.”

7. Clovelly Bowling Club

Clovelly

Vibes - It’s a bowlo. Relaxed beers in the sun and a cracking time.

Capacity - Up to 120

Want your wedding to be less traditional and more of a fun afternoon in the sun? Where else can you get married on a bowling green with 180 degree views to the horizon over the ocean, with the cliffs of Gordon’s Bay one way and the Bronte and Bondi headlands to the other. Rent some food trucks and have them set up in the parking lot for bonus props.

Bonus Round
