Friday Night Lights at the Royal National Park

A couple of weekends ago, a friend from NZ came to visit on her way through to Byron and the great beyond, so a bunch of us decided to go camping down at the Royal National Park just south of Sydney to a secret little spot one of our friends told us about for some big waves, sweet sunsets and cold starry nights.

We got down early Friday afternoon, went for a big paddle, and set up camp for the night.

Once the sun went down we got a big fire going, cooked up some pasta and sausages on a camp stove, and enjoyed the isolation and ridiculously starry skies.

We woke up the next morning to go for a wander and watch the sunrise, with the idea of getting a surf in as the sun climbed into the sky. However, seeing as all we had to work with was 6 foot, hollow dumpers we decided discretion was the better part of valour and after a walk, promptly got the fire going again and curled up in our sleeping bags for an hour or two before going for more of an explore later in the morning.
