christina & vlad

In the rip old ages of their late 20s Christina and Vlad have already been together for over a decade. Theyโ€™ve grown side by side, through various phases and iterations and versions of themselves. Theyโ€™ve supported and influenced and guided and challenged one another throughout this age of growth, where people inevitably change and grow into themselves more than probably any other time in your life.

This day, to me, was as much a tale of two families and communities as it was a tale of two people. Both are the children of first generation immigrants and share the sense of identity that entails, both are clearly charismatic and strongly loved by large contingents of friends from all various walks of life (both had an 8 or 9 person strong unofficial bridal party and both had people comment during their speeches that they each treat their friends like adopted family). It was a celebration of the two of them yes, but also of all the joy and love and people in their life.

And so, here we were. A cracking ceremony at Blackburn Gardens overseen by one of their best mates who styled himself as a good reverend for the day. A post ceremony stop at the pub for beers and spicy margaritas and snacks because it was raining and also, why the hell not? And lastly a raucous celebration at Urban Winery where words were shared (as were lots of spirits, particularly between their respective parents who were meeting for the first time), delicious food was had, and the night kicked off into a party.

Enjoy
