Joel and Hahna met on Happn one day as both of them were unexpectedly in Bondi - a far cry from either of their usual haunts. The banter quickly turned into a meeting, which quickly turned into dating, scuba diving all over the planet, and then, into this.

Joel is, in some ways, the definition of a hospo boy (he runs a venue in the cross) - loves a beer, loves a chat (and is very good at it), and is disarmingly friendly with an occasionally pretty outrageous sense of humour. Hahna works as a consultant to the creative industry, is pretty cheeky her own self and also loves a good drop.

They love the music of the rat pack , which I feel is actually pretty indicative of the two of them as a whole - old school romantics at heart who nonetheless also god damn love a good whiskey and a bit of party.

And so, less than 4 years later they got married, at the recently built Stables at Bendooley, surrounded by friends and family from all over the globe.

A few moments to look out for:

  • Dom Perignon skulls post ceremony

  • In most of them, but in particular there’s an image 3 after the group shot that is simply a small, unheralded moment of Hahna and Joel walking together where she’s unaware but he is gazing at her with such intense adoration and joy. Kills me.

  • Lots of big post ceremony embraces, in particular Joel with his gran and Hahna with her mum.

  • The “cake” Hahna made from scratch, and both of them destroying it with a baseball bat

  • In general, the enormous grin on Hahna’s face all day
