THE GROUNDS WEDDING

CATHERINE & STEVEN

Catherine and Steven have been together since they were practically still kids. They met through mutual friends at that bastion of love and romance, Defqon, and quickly followed up their wholesome introduction with lots of study dates. It took them a while to get going, but when they did they fell hard and fast.

Now in their late 20s and having gone through various phases and iterations and versions of themselves, they each recognise that they have changed indelibly from the people they were when they first met. They recognise that they’ve had periods where they’ve grown and changed and had to actively find their way back to one another, but that they always have.

I actually think this is the most romantic thing in the world, for what is life but a constant state of flux and change, and marriage a promise to always prioritise the other and find joy and acceptance for the other’s constant state of becoming? To grow and change alongside one another but always do so with gratitude and love?

And so, a first look to get some nerves out of the way. A ceremony conducted by Steven’s dad to seal the deal. A beautiful reception where words were shared and then the night turned to raucous celebration.
