sydney university great hall wedding

megan & otis

This one as a reminder of a lot of things. Of the importance and influence of recognising your culture and how greatly that can contribute to who you are, of the power of grand gestures (3rd date surprise Michael Buble anyone?), of how some traditions don’t make sense anymore but some of them still very much do and how beautiful and additive they can be to the experience.

Megan and Otis met at university, in the very hall they were married in, and simply circled each other for a couple of years until they landed in a class together. Otis had is eye on Megan for a while, until one day she particularly caught his eye and he decided to slide into her DM’s (he was clearly ahead of the curve). They spend the next few years romping around the campus, learning and challenging and falling in love with one another.

And so this happened.

They had traditional door games and a tea ceremony with both families the day before to recognise Otis’ culture and pay their respects and thanks to their parents. They met again the next day, in the same place they first met, to say some words and make some promises in front of all the people they care about most.

Enjoy
