sim & Jack

Sometimes you gotta rock the boat.

Sim and Jack had already been friends for a long time when Jack humbly suggested they could be more. Sim wasn’t having a bar of it. They were (and are) part of a close-knit friendship circle, and the risk of upsetting the balance was too much. Who would get the mates in a divorce?

So, tail between his legs, Jack jetted off to South America for a few months. Perhaps it was a spur of the moment late night decision in the hopes of getting over his heartbreak in an exotic location with none of the usual daily reminders of what he had missed, perhaps just because it was a trip he had already planned. Who knows.

However, upon returning, Jack decided discretion was not the better part of valour and said hey Sim, we would clearly god damn rock as a couple, don’t be dumb bro. She replied mate, now you put it that way I see what you mean, lets give her a shot (I may be paraphrasing).

In some ways this a perfect snapshot of the two of them. Driven. Adaptable. Knowing what they want and not being afraid to get after it. A few years in to their relationship Jack had a career pivot where he basically taught himself to be a day trader and so can work from anywhere, which works perfectly because after a few years of success Sim has recently been accepted into not one but three of the world’s top universities to study her Masters. These are two people who clearly have a life of success and adventure together before them, and they didn’t even have to break up the friendship circle to do it. What a gift.

Jack and Sim rockin’ the boat, the botanic gardens, a classic dress and a linen suit, their local pasta joint, and soon the globe.

Enjoy
