pier one wedding

Neither of these two do anything by halves. They met in a club in their early 20s and a few days later RJ flippantly commented that they should weekend in New York together. So only a couple of weeks later, much to the chagrin of some of Pam's closest friends who were thinking who the hell was this guy?, they did. And they haven't been apart since.

People grow and mature into who they are a lot between their early and late twenties, and they've done it all side by side, influencing and guiding and supporting one another along the way, all while buying a house of their own, raising a son, Pam building a career and recently, RJ building his own (super successful) business. Any one of the aforementioned experiences can put a lot of a stress on a young couple, let alone all of them at once, and they have come out more in love than ever. They clearly make one hell of a team.

This day was a reminder of a lot of things. Of the value of preserving cultural traditions, of the importance of family, of the fact a wedding day can be a beautiful incentive to think about and publicly acknowledge a whole range of important relationships apart from the one in the middle of it all. Plus, it ended with one hell of a rockin' party.

This was one for the books. A few favourite moments to look out for

  • Pam (and everyone else for that matter) with tears running freely down their faces as she reads a latter RJ wrote to her

  • Their son Sebastian, generally being adorable and falling asleep at inappropriate moments throughout the day

  • RJ's brother cutting loose with a sleepy Sebastian in his arms

  • The cheeky face on Pam's dad as he wraps up his speech

  • Pam, in that dress

Enjoy
