Barnham Grove Wedding 

Mel and Bryce secretly married a few months prior to this day at a family house one rainy day - because they simply didn’t want to wait. A 15 minute window of clear skies co-incided with the ceremony.

This time round, on an otherwise clear winters day, a 15 minute sunshower co-incided with the ceremony. No one flinched. People huddled under jackets and umbrellas (or nothing at all), and laughed at the joy and chance of it all.

It was, to me, a bit of a lesson. Of making magic out of whatever the hell life throws at you. Of taking something a lot of people would find a bit of a negative and running with it and making it something beautiful and memorable and yours.

So to Mel and Bryce, to sunshowers, to making the most out of every situation, to friends in drag kicking off raucous dancefloors, and to joy.
