Being vulnerable is powerful.

Ally & Joey dated briefly in their youth but, well, youth got in the way - as it often does.

Lifetimes passed (..well, 7 or 8 years). Entire careers started and ended. Love was chased and hinted at but ultimately never realised. Business ideas were forged and melded and acted upon. New continents were explored and lived in.

And then, in the midst of it all and from half a world and 16 hours worth of time difference away, Ally posts a photo of a newly bleached do. She’s inundated with responses building her up but one stands out. Joey writes to her simply asking, is everything okay? Having faced some demons of his own recently, he recognised that this could be more than just an exciting haircut.

She’s struck but answers honestly, and so they begin talking on the phone. Everyday. For hours at a time. And by the time they see each other again its practically already a done deal and things move quickly. Because sometimes it just makes sense.
