CENTENNIAL PARK ELOPEMENT

LISA & DAN SNEAK IN A PRE-LOCKDOWN HITCHIN

Lisa and Dan were supposed to run away to the country and get married in two weeks time, and then move to WA. Then Sydneyโ€™s lockdown 2.0 was announced. Lisa and Dan were then supposed to figure somewhere to married next weekend in Sydney. Then full lockdown happened.

Lisa and Dan then said to hell with it, let's get married tomorrow.

Ballsy.

And a phenomenal decision as it turns out.

Saturday night rolls around. In the midst of dealing with the latest round of covid-chaos I got a message asking if I was free for a last minute emergency hitchin' courtesy of the incomparable Married By Alleegra who sprang into action with all the paperwork, literally made them a bouquet courtesy of a FaceTime lesson from Ella Bore, and helped them get it all done. I ran down to Centennial Park to find somewhere to hold the ceremony, and less than 24 hours after the decision was made here we stood.

Life (...particularly at the moment) is messy, it's chaotic, it's un-f**king-precedented. But there's still joy to be found. Still lives to live. Still love to celebrate*. Still exploding champagne to cop to the face. We need to do these things. Perhaps now more than ever.

*I say this being fully aware that we, and I, and most people by virtue of the fact they are reading this are pretty privileged to be doing so.
