caitlin and thomas

Sometimes it takes meeting the right person for all of the cliches to all of a sudden make sense.

Thomas and Caitlin are both creatives. He’s an artist (in a weird twist of fate I had actually already bought one of his pieces before they got in touch). She’s a photographer. They fuel and push and inspire one another. From the start, they simply knew. A phrase and a concept they had heard so many times from so many people but which finally found a home and a truth in each other.

But, perhaps most of all, they simply have a great bloody time together.

They are both awash in kindness and it shows. The depth of their relationships. The warmth of the people in their orbit. I have sincerely rarely come across such a large group of people so singularly welcoming and inclusive.

Some days you just feel particularly (as poor a connotations as this word has) blessed to be a part of. These are the days that, if I’m honest, scare me. But that also push me. That push my sense of art and storytelling. That make we want to do everything I possibly can to do these glorious joy filled creative unique stories justice. It also made me realise that, for me, the best days come from immersing yourself in the people. In making an intentional choice to, at times, put down your camera and interact. To take a second to get to know aunties and dads and friends because it creates a space to capture things and people in a way you wouldn’t otherwise. Because the better you know a story, the better you can tell it.

Thomas and Caitlin, and their sea of almost comically beautiful and warm people.

Enjoy
