The first time Bryan met Beth, he was enamoured. The first time Beth met Bryan, she walked away thinking his name was Shane.

All’s well that ends well, however, and this one ended pretty damn well.

One of my favourite things about weddings are that they’re also an excuse and reason to celebrate ALL the love in your life. To critically think about and thank all the people that have gotten you to where you are, shaped the way you view the world, or have just been there for the highs and the lows. On this day, at this wedding, the whole day was beautiful but I feel like the reception is where much of the story unfolded, where much of this community and family was celebrated. Stories were told, long embraces were shared , and when it was done and dusted it all turned into a raucous party.

I love this job at the best of times, but particularly on days like this, getting the opportunity to tell the stories of people I’ve had the luck to know for much of my life.

A few moments to look out for

  • A couple of blokes having a serious chat on the back deck

  • Beth’s young nephew Oscar coming up to her to tell her she looks beautiful just after she had finished getting ready

  • A runaway veil

  • Lots of emotive embraces immediately after the ceremony

  • One hell of a sunset
